Every Thursday - Gentle gardening group that explores how to use plants in creative ways with textiles, remedies, printing and more. The group also goes on trips and learn new skills from darning to book binding.
What is this group?
Join us in the garden! Learn to sow, harvest, cook, and care for different plants all year round. Gipton Growers are a group of community growers who look after Gipton Community Garden (all the grounds at The Old Fire Station).
The tasks of the group vary depending on the season and what needs to be done:

Spring and Summer are often busy with preparing beds, sowing seeds, looking after seedlings and plenty of watering.We also try to do some cooking and eating sessions with our produce too which the group always love!

Autumn is generally a tidy up after the busyness of summer and then as we move through to the colder months.

Winter we tend to focus on building jobs (raised beds, greenhouses, sheds etc.) maintenance and preparing/planning for the year ahead.

Make sure to wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Bring water and anything you need to stay healthy; raincoat, suncream, etc.
