What is Pride in Place?

Pride in Place is a UK-wide government programme, with up to £20 million being invested in identified neighbourhoods over 10 years.

The Government has allocated new funding to an area of Seacroft, defined as ‘Seacroft North Monkswood’.

What is We Are Seacroft?

We Are Seacroft is a partnership of local residents, community groups, schools, faith organisations, health partners, third sector organisations, and Leeds City Council, all working together to support Seacroft long term. All of these organisations have been collaborating with We Are Seacroft, exploring ways to work together and trying to ensure Pride in Place does not simply invest in places but invests in people, relationships and community voice.

What is We Are Seacroft's Role in the Pride in Place programme?

It’s important to say that we do not hold the Pride in Place funding or decide how it is spent. Leeds City Council provides the governance for the programme, and decisions about funding and investment will be made through the Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board.

As the engagement partner for Pride in Place, we’re working alongside Leeds City Council to help make sure community voice is at the heart of the programme from the very beginning. We’re supporting conversations, engagement activities, and opportunities for local people to help shape priorities and the future direction of Pride in Place in Seacroft North and Monkswood. That’s why we’re hosting family fun days, BBQs, drop-ins and community events across Seacroft, creating spaces where residents can meet others, share ideas, have their say, and get involved in shaping what comes next.
