What is this group?

This group started in September 2020 around the beautiful local nature reserve of Killingbeck Meadows, it was formally named Slow Seasonal Changes Walk.

The name Seasonal Change Walks came from a long term aim that after the lockdowns people would want to get out and walk whatever the weather. The pace of the walks is deliberately slow so people can connect with each other and nature. We identify plants and learn about their medicinal uses from each other.

Now in partnership with Leeds Discovery Centre to create our own East Leeds Herbarium, these walks encourage observation of local plants and their history.

The peace of mind I feel when walking on Tuesdays is palpable – a time to relax, enjoy and stop to see the beauty, small and large.
